Overview:
As the growth of high school lacrosse programs proliferates, the college recruiting process intensifies in an attempt to keep pace. As a result, college coaches are intent at identifying rising juniors and incorporating that talent into their program. To facilitate this process, on July 10-13, 2008 at Irondequoit High School, The Standout Lacrosse Camp will be a venue convenient for players to demonstrate their lacrosse skills and an efficient means for the college coaches to make evaluations. The camp is designed in team game format to showcase the invited outstanding sophomores in the Upstate New York region. The camp is open to 144 players only, which will make up 8 teams (40 Attackmen, 48 Midfielders, 40 Defensemen, 16 Goalies). The Standout Lacrosse Camp is an INVITE ONLY camp, as our goal is to have the top talent in the area showcasing their abilities. For those who are invited, it is first come first serve; once the number for each position is full, registration will close.
I've had the opportunity to play amongst the very best college lacrosse players and I know first hand from that experience that the Upstate region produces some of the best lacrosse players in the country; and they deserve to be a main stop on the college lacrosse recruiting road map. No longer will lacrosse players in the Upstate New York region have to travel out of state to get recruited, with the Standout Lacrosse Camp the Coaches are coming to you. If you are serious about lacrosse and your future in the sport, the Standout Lacrosse Camp is the camp you MUST attend for the best exposure!
Showcase Your talents:
The top college lacrosse coaches will be in attendance to scout the talent in the Upstate New York region. This is a great opportunity for athletes to demonstrate their skills and ability to college coaches looking to build their team for future years. Coaches will receive a CD with all camper profiles on it.
Improve Your game:
Athletes will be competing with the top lacrosse players in the area. This high level competition will bring all athletes to the peak of their performance and enhance their skills.
Learn The Recruiting Process:
The camp gives a comprehensive look at the recruiting process by providing information from both the coaches' perspective (Matt Kerwick, Head Coach, Hobart College) and the players' perspective (Joe Walters, University of Maryland '06).
